AutoCAD capable computer for Sustainable Systems Engineering?
Hi,
I'm currently looking at buying a computer for when I start Sustainable Systems Engineering in 2018 and was wondering if I'll need one with an advanced core processor to run AutoCAD or something similar?
Thanks,
Ben

Re: AutoCAD capable computer for Sustainable Systems Engineering?
Hi @BenOBrien
Thanks for posting!
AutoCAD will be available on lab computers here at RMIT as well as via the MyDesktop environment:
https://mydesktop.rmit.edu.au
If you're looking into a personal computer, a good first step would be the check out the minimum system requirements on the AutoCAD website. These should give you a good idea of what to aim for:

Hope this helps you out!
Regards,
Adam

Re: AutoCAD capable computer for Sustainable Systems Engineering?
As an FYI Ben, I'm also a Master of Mech Eng student (final year) and we never bothered trying to run CAD on our own machines. The computer labs at RMIT are generally excellent, we'd just make sure we signed up early for late-night computer lab access.
