Re: Do i get free Microsoft windows as a student
Hi @s33570360
Thanks for posting!
Unfortunately no, RMIT does not provide the Windows OS to students for installation on their personal devices.
Software that is available for students on their personal devices can be found on the following page:
http://www1.rmit.edu.au/students/it/devicesoftware
Some specific IT-related courses will have access to Dreamspark, which will provide access to additional software (including Windows OS 7, 8/8.1 and 10) but this is not available to students outside those courses.
Hope this helps you out!
Regards,
Adam

Re: Do i get free Microsoft windows as a student
Since this page is still coming in top search results a correction is in order (and I think this was porbably correct at the time the quesiton was (incorrectly?) answered).
You CAN get a free version of Windows from MS Imagine - https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0...

Re: Do i get free Microsoft windows as a student
Hi @SGRstudent,
Imagine is simply Microsoft's updated name for the Dreamspark program, so the same information from the original post still applies.

Adam
