Printing on personal computer

How do I print from my personal laptop around the campus without having to go to the library and sign into a computer etc? Smiley Happy

Re: Printing on personal computer

Hi krugsarah.

Thanks for posting!

At the current time the only other option available is to sign in to the RMIT MyDesktop. The MyDesktop environment will have a connection to the RMIT-Global printing queue.
To access files in MyDesktop they will need to be located in either:
- Your email
- Your student H: drive
- A form of online storage (such as your student Google Drive)

A guide to accessing your files in MyDesktop can be found below:
https://community.its.rmit.edu.au/t5/IT-Knowledge-Base/Accessing-your-files-using-MyDesktop/ba-p/114

Once you can access your files, you can print them off as you normally would if you were on an RMIT computer.

Hope this helps you out!

Adam

Re: Printing on personal computer

Hi @DFree,

That guide was actually related to RMIT computers (not personal ones), and was applicable to the Mac environment from several OSX versions ago.

I've can confirm that the current method supported by ITS for printing on a personal computer is via myDesktop as per this guide:

Re: Printing on personal computer

Just have to download Papercut client and put this in config.properties file:

server-ip=10.85.201.79
server-port=9191
server-name=pcutprdap01.rmit.internal

And add the printer

Host: winsprdps01r001.rmit.internal
Queue: Ricoh-Global-Client
Driver: Ricoh Aficio MP C3002 PS
