Trying to play a CD through windows media player but receive the following error message:
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.
Re: windows media
Thanks for posting!
Is it a genuine bought CD you're trying to play or a burnt CD (your own files burnt onto a blank CD)?
Generally speaking, Windows Media Player should be able to play audio CDs without much issue.
If you find you're still having difficulties, majority of RMIT computers should also have VLC Media Player available on them (can be found by searching in the Start Menu).
Can you see if VLC has more luck playing it?
