Hi, Just wanted to know how I can track the progress of my IT request?

You are correct: the process has changed!
As of today you can now visit the Service and Support web portal to request a service or report an issue for various Service Areas (ITS, ARG, College of Busienss, etc) as well as keep track of the progress of any outstanding tasks you have active with them.
