As we are wishing Blackboard and our learning experience using this system a fond goodbye, we are thrilled to have Canvas as RMIT's new Learning Management System.
There will be no change to how you access Blackboard. Students will continue to be able to review existing Blackboard content, assignments and grades.
RMIT staff will access Blackboard content via their new RMIT Limited Access role. This new role will allow RMIT Instructors to view past Blackboard content whilst restricting edit access. Access to Blackboard Collaboration tools such as Wikis, Blogs and Journals will continue to be available.

School and College Administrators
School and College Administration access is not available under Limited Access. Staff requiring additional access to courses should contact the Service and Support Centre via the Service and Support Portal, Blackboard access request.
Crocodoc End of Life
Blackboard’s service for inline grading is currently available via the Crocodoc. As of January 15, 2018, Crocodoc’s vendor, Box Inc., has discontinued their support of the Crocodoc service. Assignment Inline Grading with Crocodoc will no longer be available to Blackboard users worldwide after this date. The Crocodoc end of life does not impact inline grading with Turnitin assignments or the Turnitin Feedback Studio.
There is no option to upgrade RMIT’s Blackboard to the Box View API.
Staff wishing to finalise Blackboard assignments after January 15, 2018 can continue to review submissions offline and assign grades and feedback using standard Blackboard functionality. Inline annotations will no longer be available.

Blackboard Mobile End of Life
With the release of iOS 11 on September 19, 2017 for iPhones and iPads, Apple will no longer support 32-bit apps, including Mobile Learn, Blackboard’s original mobile application for students and instructors. In addition, Blackboard have advised that they cannot guarantee continued usability of the application.
To achieve a consistent Student and Staff experience RMIT Blackboard will no longer be available for connection via Blackboard’s Mobile app.
There is no current option to upgrade RMIT’s Blackboard to connect with Blackboard Student or Blackboard Instructor

Lecture Capture Impacts - Echo and Lectopia
Echo Lecture Capture
With the implementation of RMIT’s new lecture capture system Echo360, ITS is decommissioning the old system and migrating all content to the new Echo360 administration centre.
Students and Staff will no longer be able to access Echo recordings through Blackboard.
Staff may access previous recordings via the new Echo360 administration centre and may choose to add new links into Canvas courses if required.

Lectopia Recordings
RMIT’s Lectopia lecture capture system was decommissioned in 2016. Recordings up till this date will continue to be available via the Lectopia Staff Tool.
