Use the Difficulty through Schwierigkeit: Antiusability as Value-driven Design

Arthur Hacker 1888.jpg

Based on an idea originally inspired by actor Michael Caine, Dr John Lenarcic (RMIT School of Business IT and Logistics) will introduce a philosophical work in flux, this being a radical design paradigm dubbed Schwierigkeit which could be employed to combat digital distraction by enabling dedicated awareness of the user-system interface through a logic of difficulty.

This presentation is an expansion of his 2014 paper from the Thirty Fifth International Conference on Information Systems held in Auckland, New Zealand.
