Global Intensives

Global intensives are a unique opportunity for you to combine an overseas travel and cultural experience, with studies focusing on various aspects of a region or area of study.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students have the opportunity to undertake Global intensives - a 12 or 24 credit point course (one or two general electives) studied overseas as part of their degree.

Rather than travelling and studying on your own, these are student groups led by an RMIT faculty member, travelling and studying for one to two weeks during semester breaks.

Basic Eligibility:

  • Be enrolled in a Undergrad or Postgrad program (note: some tours are specifically for one group)
  • Have completed at least one full time semester load of study (36-48 credit points)
  • Have the requisite number of general electives still available in your program structure (12 or 24 credit points)
  • Be enrolled at the the time of enrolment for the tour. Those completing their program before the tour will not be eligible.

What happens?

Global Intensives can vary in their length and what is involved, but generally:

Pre-tour: you will be required to attend pre-departure workshops to introduce you to the study component of the tour

On tour: engage in group classes whilst on the tour

Post tour: attend post-departure workshops on your return to Melbourne and submit related assessments.

Whilst on the tour, you will be attending classes at the partner institution as a group as well as engaging in cultural activities to interact with your destination and learn more about the people culture and environment.

Some tours also offer additional optional tours to other cities in the chosen country to make the most of your time there.

Global Intensives are available in a number of locations throughout Europe, North America and Asia. Details on what is available can be found on the website here: College of Business Global Intensives

To apply, you must submit an application through the Mobi online application system.
