Connect to RMIT's network? Time to upgrade your internet proxy
ITS is continually working to provide a better internet experience for students and staff.
With a growing number of devices connecting to the internet every day, it’s vital that ITS continues to implement innovative solutions to meet future demand.
In view of this, we will be updating the connection to the wireless network on Monday 4 December. Staff and students who connect to RMIT’s network on campus with BYO devices will need to update their proxy connection - you can do this before this date, or you will be prompted from this day.
To re-configure your proxy, please follow these steps:
IE: Tools > Internet options > Connections > LAN settings > Select "Automatically detect settings"
Chrome: Menu (three dots in upper right) > Settings > Advanced > Open proxy settings > LAN Settings > Select "Automatically detect settings"
Firefox: Menu (three bars in upper right) > Options > Network Proxy > Settings > Select "No proxy"
Please review applications installed on your device by removing the proxy settings within the application configuration.
If you have any queries, please contact the Service and Support Centre.
